BASIC QUALITIES OF A COMPANION IN THE JOURNEY ( COUPLE OR INDIVIDUAL )

1. Long pastoral experience – ( at least former Chapter Head, Cluster Head, SGT/AGT,
PAH, PAD, CC or Former Head of area PFO, Ministry Coordinator at least chapter
position and up )

2. Has time ( preferably retired or work/business is not very demanding of time)

3. Prayerful / Regular prayer life/ Seeking to deepen relationship with God

4. Desire to pastorally and spiritually accompany people ( groups ( HH) couples,


individuals, youth )

5. Patience and Willingness to Listen

6. Openness to learn and share own life and challenges faced as needed

7. Humility to accept own personal limitations and willing to grow pastorally and spiritually

8. Attend series of trainings and follow up sessions to be given by CFCI for Companions in
the Journey

9. Willingness to act as resource or support trainings to be given by CFCI related to


Development of Companions in the Journey

10. Willingness to accompany couples/persons in need in their geographic area of service,


both CFC or Non-CFC

NOTE:
1. Companions in the Journey will not just be pulled out of the “companionship service” by
the CFC Territorial or Ministry Leaders without consultation with the Accompaniment
Center ( commitment is needed ) due to the preparation and trainings needed for
companions.

2. If the companion is a couple, both husband and wife should attend the trainings.
