How to Pray

1. Ask God to forgive you for all of your sins
(1 John 1:9).
2. Pray to the Father in Jesus’ name. Make specific
requests “…Let your requests be made known to
God” (Phil. 4:6). You can always add “If it be
Your will” on the end of a prayer if you don’t
know the will of God. Making a list sometimes
helps.
3. Place your trust in His promises, specific
Scriptures. Trust in who God is, in His integrity,
and in the integrity of His Word.
4. Thank God and praise Him for what He is doing
according to His will “...with thanksgiving...”
(Phil. 4:6).
What Is GOD’S Part?
God is faithful. His promises are true (1 Cor. 1:20).
His Word is true (Rom. 3:4). He will watch over His
Word to perform it (Isa. 55:11).
Hope in God!
• There is joy in knowing that God is alive and
well and that He is interested in you! He wants
to answer your prayers. Did you know that in
two of the gospels it says, “Everyone who asks
receives” (Matt. 7:8, Luke 11:10)?
• Jesus said to ask and we would receive that our
joy be full (John 16:23–24).
• Take time for a quiet time with the Lord each
day. Even if it is ten or fifteen minutes, once or
twice a day to begin with, you will find a new-
ness in your relationship with Jesus Christ. You
will grow spiritually and begin to see answers to
your prayers.
• Continue to thank God for His kindness, and for
what He is doing.
Prayer to Become a Christian
Jesus, please forgive me of all of my sins. I believe
that You died on the cross for my sins, and rose
from the dead. I accept You as my Savior and Lord.
Come into my heart right now and make me into
the kind of person you want me to be [John 3:16].
