In the year 1725, is based in Caracas (Venezuela) The
Royal and Pontifical University Seminar Santa Rosa of
Lima, known as "University of Caracas”. Venezuela was a
colony from The Spain Kingdom.
From 1821, Caracas University ceases to depend from
Spain Kingdom and becomes an entity of the new
Independent State of Venezuela.
In 1827, Simon Bolivar writes the Republican Statutes of
the University of Caracas, rename as Central University
of Venezuela.
In 1856 the University moves into the building Convent of
San Francisco (Caracas). In 1950 Agronomy and
Veterinary Faculties were transferred to the city of
Maracay and the other 9 faculties to a new campus named
as: University City of Caracas, which was declared a World
Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2000.
