Music Arrangement

Level one 
 

Context 
A key role in the music industry is the ability to create music to fit specific 
structural and stylistic briefs. This can mean taking existing music and 
refining or redeveloping it. Arrangers and producers may be asked to make 
the music to fit certain durations, for specific instrumentations, or fit a certain 
style or format. 
 
 
 

Aims/Purpose 
This unit aims to introduce the notion of re-arranging the constituent 
elements within a piece of music. The purpose is to develop awareness that 
altering an aspect of a piece of music has the potential to change the 
mood/feel/personality of the piece.
