”MOONA : SARDINE (SARDINELLA SP) ICE CREAM AS AN UNIQUE

AND NUTRITIOUS FOOD INNOVATION”

Ice cream is widely defined as dairy based dessert products that is combined with
other ingredients such as sweetener and flavorings. The existence of ice cream all this
time is more on the creation of shapes and flavors, while the innovation of ice cream with
unique taste and ingredient scantly explored before. Sardine (Sardinella sp) ice cream
comes as an innovative breakthrough that will be great news for ice cream connoisseurs
in the whole world. This ice cream is made from Sardine as main ingredient, that as we
know that Sardine is an important source of EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA
(docosahexaenoic acid). Those nutrients are essentials for brain development support of
children, atherosclerosis and thrombosis prevention, and improve bloodstream. This ice
cream also uses Broccoli and Dragon Fruit as an additive ingredient. Besides as
flavorings, vegetables and fruits, it is also used for increasing vitamin content of product.
This ice cream is produced by grinding Sardine using blender, then mix it with other ice
cream ingredients, and then boil it and freeze prior to packed. Sardine ice cream has a
huge business opportunity due its practical way of production process and wide
segmentation market. The nutrient value and uniqueness of taste are not owned by other
producers, offering a brand-new pleasure for ice cream lovers from around the world. By
this prospective product, we are very likely to establish trade cooperation with companies
engaged in similar fields by providing trade license, for instance PT. Tegar Inti Sentosa.
