Once upon a time, there was a charming girl called Ava. She lived in the small town of of
Western Springs along with her parents and three siblings. One ordinary day, she revealed to to
her family that she had been learning to play the ukulele.

Instead of the cheerful responses she had hoped for, the reactions were entirely negative.

“What a dumb instrument,” her brother commented, “I mean, who wants to listen to to
that?”’

“Agreed.” her mother snickered.

The poor girl was crushed by her family’s criticism. All Ava had hoped for was some

support as she traveled along her journey to learn the ukulele.

But she would not let her family ruin her journey. This was not the end for her. She

grabbed her instrument and gathered some music to read. She practiced for the rest of the night, night,
and every night for the following two weeks. By the end, she had learned a total of seventeen

songs that she could play beautifully.

Again, Ava decided to reach out to her family.

“Everybody, I’ve learned the practice of the ukulele very well now, and I would love to to
perform some songs for you all. It would mean a lot to me” Ava requested from her family.

From her brothers and parents, Ava received the same response as before.

“No! Didn’t we already tell you, your instrument is a waste of time, so stop asking,” her

brothers yelled.

Ava ran to her room, quite upset from the outcome. Soon after, her little sister of just four

years peeked out from behind the door. door.
“Ava? I can get them to listen if you still want to play” she whispered sweetly.

“I would love that, but would you be able to persuade them?” Ava questioned.

“Yes, I can do it. We will listen in fourteen days, so be ready!”

March 26! The ukulele player jumped at the opportunity her sister had presented. She She
practiced more than she ever had to prepare for the fateful day. day.

When the big day arrived, although she had rehearsed her songs countless times preparing for for
this moment, she still felt nervous. But the day was sunny and birds chirped encouragingly

outside her window. She shook away her worries, took her instrument, and ran down the stairs

to perform.

As she stood in front of the judgmental eyes of her household, she knew she had to

persevere and prove to them she was good enough. That the ukulele was more than a just a a
dumb instrument. She played through her six songs and left her family shocked. They were

stunned by her talent.

It was at this moment that she realized she could accomplish anything. Everything was
was
possible for her. Her old ways of procrastinating her problems away and feeling scared for the

little shows and performances were gone. She would become dedicated and hardworking and and
she knew in her heart that she could do anything she set her mind to. Hopefully, in the future,

she can become an even more talented ukulele player.
