COMPARISON OF STUDENTS PERFORMANCE (2014-2017)

3) To ensure students improvement.
4) To make the right decision, because good decision making is facilitated by access to
relevant, reliable and timely information.

INTRODUCTION

It provides the information about the students’ performance and improvement in 3-4 years.
Dependable information is required at all levels of educational decision making to identify the areas
of deficiency and special need to monitor progress towards goal. The comparison also highlights the
future improvement in school performance.

SUMMARY OF KEY FINDINGS


Based on an extensive examination of the Grade 9 student achievement data and the comparative
analysis, the proficiency rate in each subject is as follows:

As shown in the data of Grade 9, the overall proportion of students scoring proficient in Arabic
across the years (2014-2017) ranged from 15-37 percent, whereas the students scoring 80% ranged
from 73-30 percent, where it shows the degradation across the year. Nonetheless, the students
scoring 70% marks ranged from 27 to 30 percent. Furthermore it shows no failure in the subject.

For Islamic, the proficient range across the years is 18 to 36 percent. The students scoring 70%
marks ranged from 18 to 14 percent. Nevertheless it shows a vast improvement of the proficiency
rate in the year 2016-2017.
However, none of the students failed across the year.

The proficiency rate of students in UAE S.ST ranged from 18 to 45 percent across the year, which
shows an impressive and vast improvement of students. The students scoring 75 % marks ranged
from 18 to 22 percent.

In English, the proficient range across the years is 12 to 21 percent. Moreover the 80% marks
ranged from 47 to almost 21 percent and 70% marks ranged from 73 to 43 percent showing the drop
down though leaving no sign of failure.
Though showing the achievement gap of the proficiency range in year 2014 -2015, 2015-2016, the
proficiency ranged to 25 percent in 2016-2017 in Mathematics, The students scoring 70% marks
ranged from 18 - 25 percent and 60% marks ranged from 36 to 30 percent.

The proficiency rate in Science is 15% in year 2015-2016, showing improved range of 30 percent in
2016-2017. The students scoring 70% marks ranged from 36 to 29 percent. The students scoring 50
% marks ranged from 18 to 30 percent.

Through the analysis, it’s clear that the home of improvement should be created for the subject
English and others as well.
CONCLUSION

Based on the data analysis, the major contributors in students’ improvement is Teachers support,
teaching method, consistent curriculum, data driven decisions and technology. The report shows the
areas where the students are lagging behind.
Student data from tests, formative assessments, and interim assessments drive the decisions about
the student support services needed as well as where more teacher support is needed. Based on
student assessment data, struggling students are provided with targeted interventions to address their
specific areas of deficiency. It is also through these data that teachers are able to monitor programs
and identify areas of concern to get a school back on track.
