1 Definition
The feature Call Forwarding in case of All Lines Disturbed (CFALD) has the effect
of forwarding all incoming call requests immediately to a different predefined destination
if the specified line is unavailable because of a disturbance. The destination to be for-
warded to can be individually specified for each directory number and service.

Operator benefits
– increases the volume of successful traffic and therefore generates higher revenues

Subscriber benefits
– The called party can be reached via an alternative line if all of his or her lines are
disturbed.

Interactions
For interaction with other features, see Feature Interactions.

2 Mode of operation
The feature Call Forwarding in case of All Lines Disturbed becomes active if one or
more of the following faults applies to an entire access:
– all available ports of the subscriber/PBX are blocked
– the entire DLU is disturbed
– the entire PCM system or the line is interrupted
– the entire PCM system or the line is blocked
– the V5.x interface is unavailable because of a protocol error
– the access network of the V5.x interface is blocked
The feature is not active in the following cases:
– if an administrative, request or charging barring restriction applies
– if the LTG or DLU ports are disturbed or deactivated
The feature can be applied for the following:
– ISDN-BA point-to-multipoint
– ISDN multi BA point-to-multipoint
– ISDN-BA point-to-point
– ISDN-n*BA + m*PA
Once a disturbance on a line has been detected during call setup – provided the feature
is activated for the disturbed access line – all incoming calls will be forwarded to a pre-
defined alternative destination. The call forwarding destination can be created individu-
ally for each directory number and for each service. The operator is responsible for
creating the destination directory number and for activation/deactivation of the feature.
The maximum number of call forwarding functions per line that can be active at the same
time is administered with the feature named Multiple Simultaneous Call Forwarding
(MSCF). In normal cases, one call forwarding function is allowed per available B-chan-
nel.
The number of call forwarding “hops” that can be implemented in direct succession is
specified by the operator. A maximum of 5 successive call forwarding “hops” is possible.
If any of the access lines is no longer disturbed, incoming calls are transferred and there
is no call forwarding.
The Call Forwarding Unconditional (CFU) and Call Forwarding in case of All Lines Dis-
turbed (CFALD) features can be active simultaneously for an ISDN access line. CFU
has priority over CFALD.

Additional authorization
The following authorization can be assigned to a call forwarding party in connection with
the feature:
– The calling (forwarded) party is informed that his or her call is being forwarded. The
alternative destination number is optionally stated to the caller.
– The directory number of the forwarding party (or the directory numbers of the first
and last forwarding parties in case of multiple call forwarding) is presented to the
subscriber to whom a call is forwarded.

Capacity
The percentages indicate the number of authorized subscribers for the feature within the
network node and their simultaneous application.

3 Subscriber controlled input

Subscriber controlled input is not possible for this feature.

4 Call charge registration

Call charge registration is possible with:
– Automatic Message Accounting with Individual Call Charge Registration
– Pulse Metering
– Flat rate
Automatic Message Accounting with Individual Call Charge Registration (AMA) and
pulse metering can be combined. One or more call charge pulses can be generated for
pulse metering.

Charges for feature input and feature usage

The charges for operator inputs, successful subscriber controlled input and feature
usage are assigned to the subscriber.
The following call charge registration is possible:
– Facility input by operator (FAIO)
– Facility input by subscriber (FAIS)
– Facility usage (FAU)

Call charges for connections

Call charges for connections are assigned as follows:
– the calling subscriber pays the charges for the connection up to the called subscriber
– the forwarding subscriber pays the charges for the connection up to the forwarded
number destination

5 Administration
The operator can perform all administration functions on the NetManager by means of
user-friendly applications or MML commands.

Feature authorization
The network operator assigns authorization for the feature when requested by the sub-
scriber.
