ballad simply because it is unusual and colorful.

An examination
of the Lee Line records, if they still exist, and of the Lee family
papers, if there are any, might yield interesting results, as might
a search of the criminal court records of Shelby County, Tennes
see, at Memphis. Such further investigation, however, at least so
far as the present researcher is concerned, lies somewhere in the
indefinite future.
