  CORPREW’S
  CLASS

This  week,  we  focused  mainly  on
vocabulary,  and  how  it  affects  our

daily  language.

There  are  a  few  key  pieces  to  understanding  vocabulary.  To  name  them,  there  are  four  elements,  including
oral,  listening,  reading  and  writing.  Each  piece  is  needed  for  a  student  to  fully  understand  the  meaning  of  a
word.  There  also  needs  to  be  an  incoorperation  of  a  new  word  into  their  venacular  to  fully  ‘own’  the  word.

One  way  to  practice  working  on  vocabulary  is  to  model  a  strong  vernacular  as  a  parent!  When  your
child  asks  what  the  word  you  used  means,  use  it  as  a  learning  opportunity.

Another  way  you  can  practice

vocabulary  with  your  student  is  to   https://www.learninggamesforki https://pbskids.org/games/voca

create  a  word  of  the  day,  and  see   ds.com/vocabulary-games.html   bulary/
how  many  time  sit  can  be  used.
