DISEASES
THAT ARE
COMMON
Our eyes are similar to cameras which
reflects the light off surfaces to produce
images we see. The iris (a muscle which acts
as a lens) controls the size of the pupil

1 CONJUNCTIVITIS
A swelling or inflammation of the conjunctiva,
the thin, translucent layer of tissue which lines
the inner surface of the eyelid and covers the
white part of the eye.

2 DIABETIC RETINOPATHY
This condition relates to the people who are
already suffering from Diabetes. It causes
damage to the retina, the light-sensitive eye
part at the back of the eye.

3 GLAUCOMA
A group of disorders leading to radical
damage to the optic nerve. A major cause of
this disease is due to loss of nerve tissues. It
may lead to vision loss as well.

4 MACULAR DEGENERATION
An eye disease affecting the macula (the
middle of the light-sensitive retina at the
back of the eye). Can result in loss of central
vision.

5 CROSSED EYES
Also referred to as strabismus, the condition
deals with both eyes looking at a same place
at the same time. It typically occurs in those
who are very farsighted.

6 ASTIGMATISM
A vision condition that causes blurred vision
due to the irregular shape of the cornea or at
times the curvature of the lens inside the
eyeshadow.

7 CATARACT
A cloudy or opaque area develops over
the normally transparent lens of the eye
located behind the iris.

8 DRY EYE
A state in which there are insufficient tears to
lubricate and moisturize the eye.
