I believe that being an educator, I owe it to myself, to my profession and to the public that I will

continue to enrich myself on matters that aren’t found on the four corners of our textbooks. Learning
doesn’t need to be limited only on our books, dictionaries, etc. I believe that in attending this commission,
I will grow more as an individual and open myself to new things and get a new perspective in education. I
expect to learn new ideas that I could use in our homeland and even implement the things that I have
learned. As an educator, I must grab every opportunity, in which I believe that could enrich myself and be
open to new things that come my way.

Being an educator doesn’t need to be just about learning about new educational technologies,
educational techniques to use in school, etc. It also includes learning about the culture of our neighboring
countries, especially here in Asia. As an Asian, it is good to learn about the cultures of our neighboring
countries and learn about what they do in their everyday lives. It also brings into perspective on how
different the countries in Asia are in terms of technology, culture, society, history and politics, and also
how we can see that there are similar qualities that each Asian country has. It also brings into mind that
we can imagine and compare ourselves on how did other educators molded themselves depending on
their culture and education compared to what we have in the Philippines.

I look forward to the event and all the new people that I am going to meet. Thank you.
