Learning objectives: Pupils should be able to:

1. listen to and repeat the 13 words in blue with correct pronunciation

2. match 13 names of famous people with the 13 descriptions in the timeline

3. write 3 questions they would ask one of the famous people mentioned in the timeline

Success Criteria:

1. I can listen to and pronounce words correctly.

2. I can identify famous people based on descriptions.

3. I can use WH words to construct questions.

PRE activity

1. Pupils guess the names of local personalities (Lee Chong Wei and P.Ramlee) based on

the clues mentioned by the teacher.

WHILE activity

Activity 1

1. Pupils look at the timeline on page 23

2. Pupils listen to an audio recording and repeat the words in blue.

Activity 2

3. Pupils are divided into 2 groups (Group A- Usain Bolt, Group B- Malala)

4. Group A receives pictures of famous people whereas group B receives descriptions

of those famous people.

5. Pupils read the descriptions and find the correct partner to match the pictures.

Activity 3

6. Pupils choose a famous person they admire and state reasons to their partner (i-think map).

Think-Pair-Share

7. Pupils construct 3 questions they would like to ask to the famous person they admire.

POST activity

1. Pupils role-play with their partner using the questions they have constructed earlier.
