Goal #2: I would like to gain
more knowledge about the
realistic use of units and lesson
plans that are student-centered
and interactive without losing
depth of instruction and begin
building and using lessons like
this in my own classroom.
I chose the goal of learning more
about how to implement interactive
lesson planning into my future
classroom, because I have not seen
this actually implemented
successfully in any Elementary
classroom I have ever observed or
taught in and I would love to see it
accomplished successfully and learn
how to do it successfully myself.
I want to continue doing updated PD
on this throughout my career.
Goal #3: I would like to learn
more about how to implement a
focus on diversity more
consistently in my lessons to
allow for a classroom that
welcomes a variety of voices,
opinions, and thoughts.
I chose this focus on diversity,
because I felt that the school where I
taught lacked diversity in many
different ways, ranging from a vast
majority of Caucasian students to a
lack of students with IEPs or with an
LD to a lack of students with
differing socioeconomic backgrounds
or even parents of differing learning
backgrounds. Because diversity is so
important to me, I want to learn more
about it before I can fully feel
comfortable modelling it in my own
classroom.
