The following are tips on how to survive school for incoming SHS students:
Pick the strand that attracts your interest, skills and strengths. Being passionate about your strand
will help you survive school. If you’re still undecided, ask your parents ad former teachers to
help you out. It can be exhausting to pursue a strand you don’t like.
2. Be organized
Know your class schedule. Jot down all requirements, their deadlines and important reminders
to avoid any missed work. It is important to pass your requirements before the deadline. It will
become easier to keep track of everything you need to remember.
If you come across a lesson that you don’t understand, ask your teachers or classmates to explain
the concepts until you understand them. If you were absent for days, ask your classmates if you
have any missed work to catch up and inform the teacher.
Listen to your professor and make it a habit to take notes during discussion. Your ears must be
connected to your hand. Those notes are helpful if you need a quick browse before a test. Some
teachers give quizzes right after the discussion.
It is important to know how to manage your time wisely. Some students tend to procrastinate and
do their requirements a night before the deadline. Don’t wait for your work to pile up if you want
to satisfy your teachers with quality outputs. A rushed work reflects on the output.
