PDF Annotations & References

Welcome to the PDF features in NoteLedge. Let us show you around and quickly guide you
through the fast and intuitive way to organize information from PDF documents, add excerpts to
your notes, and trace reference sources.

Import PDFs

There are three ways to open PDF documents in NoteLedge.

1. Import PDF documents from cloud 2. Open documents from email or 3. Save web pages from Safari as
storages. other PDF apps, such as PDF PDF documents.

Add Annotations

Tap on the PDF viewer to enter annotation mode

and get started.

You can find the annotation tools at the bottom, or

simply select the texts you’d like to highlight to activate
the annotation tools.

Manage Annotations (BOTA)

Tap (BOTA) on the PDF viewer to view and

manage annotations.

You will find all the annotated content under

“Annotation”.

In “Related Notes”, you can find all the notes linked to

this PDF document.
Link Annotations to Notes

Now, here’s where the magic happens. NoteLedge allows you to link annotations directly to your
notes. So you can easily organize excerpts from multiple PDF documents, edit the content in your
notes, and build your own knowledge.

There are three ways to link annotations to your notes.

1. Tap the highlighted content in the 2. Tap “+Link to” next to each 3. Tap in the BOTA Annotation
PDF document and tap “Link to”. annotation in the BOTA list. list, you can select multiple
annotations to add links to notes.

You may tap under each annotation to

view the notes related to this annotation.

Edit Notes, Organize Excerpts, and Trace References

Open the note that you linked PDF annotations to. You may organize the excerpts from PDF
documents and continue editing.

Tap on the top of the editing area to open the Media Folder. You can find all the excerpts
clipped from PDF documents. Tap the clipped texts and go to related content in this note.

Long-press on the clipped texts for more editing options, or tap “View source” to view the original
PDF document.
