My Teaching Philosophy
I genuinely believe that every child can learn and be taught. Working as a
paraprofessional has helped me understand how a child learns in a classroom setting and has
helped me develop skills to become a great teacher someday. In my classroom, I will strive to
ensure each student has the opportunity to speak their mind, reach their fullest potential, and
accept themselves for who they are because every child can learn just not the same day or the
same way. I want to be the teacher that can guide them through good and bad days, introduce
new things and help expand their minds as they grow to be extraordinary humans. I aim to bring
a positive attitude, high expectations, and an open mind to my classroom. I want my students to
believe children learn differently, and it will be my responsibility to guide each student through
their mentally, emotionally, socially, and physically in my classroom. I want to create a safe
atmosphere for my students to be able to learn and obtain the information they need for their
academic success. I will use a cooperative learning style in my classroom because this will
allow students to become engaged with each other, work as a team, and achieve the same goal.
The cooperative learning technique will teach students that if everyone works together, everyone
succeeds.
I honestly believe every student can achieve academic success with appropriate guidance,
support, and the right tools, as Benjamin Franklin once said, “tell me and I forget, teach me and I
remember, involve me and I learn.” I will strive to involve my students in their academic
progress and achievements. Will my philosophy change later in my career? Yes, of course, and
that’s okay because that will mean that I have grown and experienced new things in education.
