The Albany Museum of Art has six galleries and hosts numerous exhibitions throughout the
year. Exhibitions showcase works from the AMA’s Permanent Collection as well as temporary
exhibitions of nationally and internationally recognized artists. The Albany Museum of Art and
view one of the finest collections of sub-Saharan African art in the Southeast. The AMA also
features AMAzing Space, an interactive education gallery for children.

Chehaw provides nearly 800 acres of fun, including a 100- acre, AZA- accredited zoo, Chehaw
Wild Animal Park. Noted Naturalist and Albany native Jim Fowler of TV’s “Wild Kingdom,”
originally aid out the park which features natural habitat exhibits with native and exotic animals.
Children can head for one of the state’s largest play park, visit the petting zoo, or ride the
miniature train. Camping, hiking, disc golf and BMX bike racing.

The Flint Riverquarium follows the river’s amazing 350- mile journey to the Gulf of Mexico and
the 175,000-gallon Blue Hole is one of only a few open- air aquariums in the world. Get a unique
look at southwest Georgia’s mysterious underwater world with more than 100 species of fish,
alligators, turtles and other aquatic animals. The Cypress Pond Aviary is home to more than 30
birds indigenous to the Flint River watershed. Next door the Adventure Center which houses
changing exhibitions and the Imagination Theater, the area’s only large screen format theater.

The Monarch Butterfly project, housed at Radium Springs Garden, is a collaborative effort by
Dougherty County, Southwest Georgia Master Gardener Extension Volunteers and Albany
Technical College. The garden has recently been certified with the Environmental Education
Alliance of Georgia’s Monarch’s Across Georgia program as a “Pollinator Habitat.”
