To Whom it May Concern:

It is my great honor and pleasure to write a letter in support of Gabrielle Riggins. I have the honor
and privilege of having had Gabrielle in several classes here at Wesleyan as well as watching her
assume leadership, tutoring, and ambassador roles within her class. I’ve seen evidence that
Gabrielle is a hard working, caring, and capable young woman.

Gabrielle always brings a unique perspective to classroom discussions and in looking at the
experience she’s had as a servant leader on campus, volunteering in our on campus children’s
program, tutoring in a local school, and assisting with our international dual degree program I can
now see why. She, more than many of her age, has willingly pursued activities that not only allow
her to interact and teach people of all ages but that also challenge her and push her to think
differently about various populations and cultures.

Gabrielle has experienced several field placements and has worked diligently to overcome barriers
that held her back and prevented her from putting her very best out there for all to see. I couldn’t
be prouder of the level of growth, maturity, and abilities I’ve seen in her in the time that I’ve known
her. I can honestly say she has risen above and beyond many of her classmates and is indeed going
to make one amazing educator!

I have am honored to recommend Gabrielle for a position in your school. I consider it a unique
privilege to have been in a position where I not only got to watch her grow and develop but also
played a minor role in amazing young educator she has become. I know she will work hard for you
and show you this same level of determination and will power.

I look forward to speaking with you at any time in regard to this truly remarkable young woman.

Respectfully,

Dr. Virginia B. Wilcox
