My name is Tammie Adams and I served as supervisor to Claire Henry for the 2018 - 2019 school year at
Horace Mann Elementary School.

Ms. Henry is very strong in establishing a climate that promotes fairness and respect. She attends to not only
the academic needs of her students, but she also meets their social emotional needs by allowing appropriate wait
time and incorporating toolbox tools into her lessons daily. She clearly communicates the objectives for lessons
in order to help students understand what they are learning and how it fits into the larger goals for their learning.
She creates standards aligned lessons and monitors student progress throughout lessons and uses exit tickets
frequently to check for student understanding. Ms. Henry builds strong relationships with families and is able
to clearly communicate student progress as well as elicit assistance from families when students are struggling.
Throughout her lessons, she is able to differentiate using realia, visuals, and body movements in order to
provide access to all students including English Language Learners, struggling and advanced students.

Ms. Henry is very collaborative with colleagues. She is always willing to go above and beyond to help the
school in anyway possible. She is a member of our PBIS Team and works to build school wide systems to
promote positive behaviors among our students. Ms. Henry often helps out when students from other grades
need a space for break.

Ms. Henry has been a valuable member of the Horace Mann Community and I am sure she will be successful in
all of her future endeavors.
