1. Introduction

The moment the Bug detects RF(Radio Frequency) transmission signal from an
activated mobile phone, it starts sounding a beep alarm and the LED (Light
Emitting Diode) blinks. So to avoid this problem, an automatic detection of cell
phone is introduced.

The most common electronic equipment used now-a-days is Cell Phone or Mobile
Phone. With advancement in communication technology, the requirement of cell
phones has increased dramatically. A cell phone typically transmits and receives
signals in the frequency range of 0.9 to 3GHz. This article provides a simple circuit
to detect the presence of an activated cell phone by detecting these signals.

IC:-CA3130
CA3130 is the 15MHz BiMOS IC with MOSFET inputs and a bipolar output. MOSFET
transistors are present in the inputs that provide very high input impedance. The input current can
be as low as 10pA. ... The output has CMOS transistor pair that swings the output voltage within
10mV of either supply voltage terminal.

9v Battery and 9v battery clip

The nine-volt battery, or 9-volt battery, is a common size of battery that was introduced for the
early transistor radios. It has a rectangular prism shape with rounded edges and a polarized snap
connector at the top. This type is commonly used in walkie-talkies, clocks and smoke detectors.

BATTRY CLIP
A battery holder is one or more compartments or chambers for holding a battery. For dry cells,
the holder must also make electrical contact with the battery terminals. External connections on
battery holders are usually made by contacts with pins, surface mount feet, solder lugs, or wire
leads.

Breadborad
A breadboard is a solderless device for temporary prototype with electronics and test circuit
designs. Most electronic components in electronic circuits can be interconnected by inserting
their leads or terminals into the holes and then making connections through wires where
appropriate.

100uF Capacitor(50V)

Transistor BC548
BC548 is general purpose silicon, NPN, bipolar junction transistor. It is used for amplification
and switching purposes. The current gain may vary between 110 and 800. The maximum DC
current gain is 800.

LED(Light Emitting Diode)
A light-emitting diode (LED) is a semiconductor light source that emits light when current flows
through it. Electrons in the semiconductor recombine with electron holes, releasing energy in the
form of photons.

Wires
A wire is a single, usually cylindrical, flexible strand or rod of metal. Wires are used to bear
mechanical loads or electricity and telecommunications signals. Wire is commonly formed
by drawing the metal through a hole in a die or draw plate.

3. Result
Mobile Phone Detector is a circuit that can sense the presence of any activated
cell-phone nearby and gives an indication of activated cell-phone near around of it.
Basically Cell-phone detector is a Frequency Detector or a Current to Voltage
Converter Circuit which catches frequencies about 0.8 - 3.0GHz (Mobile band
frequencies). RL tuned circuit (Resistor–Inductor circuit) is not suitable for
detecting the RF signals in GigaHertz range.

This Mobile Detector Circuit can detect incoming/outgoing calls, messaging, video
transmission and any SMS or GPRS uses within the range of 1 meter.

4. Conclusion
This pocket size mobile transmission detector can sense the presence of
an activated mobile cellphone from a distance of one and a half meters.
so it can be used to prevent use of mobile phone in examination halls
,confidential rooms etc.
It is also useful for detecting the use of mobile phone for spying and
unauthorised video transmission.
