🐈Warriors: The New Prophecy🐈

🐈Midnight🐈

Claim-

In my book “Warriors”, Brambleclaw is faced with many pressures. After

having a dream with StarClan, he is put through many pressures.

Evidence-

When Brambleclaw wishes to speak to Firestar of his dream, he couldn’t find

the courage to do so. He thinks this is because “it wouldn’t be important
enough that StarClan would share this dream with a mere warrior”.

Reasoning-

This piece of evidence tells the reader that Brambleclaw doesn’t realize the
weight put on his shoulders and shrugs it off as if it didn’t come across as
important. Later on in the story, Brambleclaw realizes that he must play an
crucial role in saving all four clans from certain doom in the supposed
future.

Evidence-

As the four chosen cats from the clans come together, Brambleclaw
instantly realizes the importance of him to all other clans. He straight away
asks Tawnypelt if she had the same dream as him, he also does the same
with Feathertail and Stormfur.

Reasoning-

At this part of the story, Brambleclaw feels uncomfortable with his duty to
the clans and feels the need to share the burden with the other three
individuals/cats.

In my book, Middle School Escape to Australia

Rafe is really excited and determined that he is going
to win this art contest to go to australia for 3 weeks.
For an example, in the text it said,” It sounded so
boring I almost passed out. Until something Mayor
Coogan said that jolted me out of my drooly
daydream.” This shows that he was so excited that he
got out of his daydream. And that means something.
For another example in the text it states”I could win
that prize! I bet Mom would like that a lot.” This
reveals that he would be happy to win the prize, go
to Australia and also make his mom happy at the
same time. In conclusion, you can see that Rafe is
excited and determined to win this prize and go to
Australia.

Subverting expectations and stereotypes is something a

lot of books cannot pull off. Usually they end up ruining the
entire point of the cliche while trying to write something
new. The book ‘Towers Falling’ by Jewell Parker Rhodes
somewhat twists the idea of historical fiction while not
straying too far from its past.
‘Towers Falling’ takes place in September of 2016.
Already we are seeing something different from Jewell.
This story takes place in the present, not the past, like
most historical fiction books. Throughout the book, we see
that rather than experiencing the attacks on September
11th, we see the aftermath of the incident. However,
something similar to historical fiction books is that they are
still dealing with the incident in some way, shape or form.
In conclusion, the book ‘Towers Falling’ by Jewell
Parker Rhodes subverts historical fiction book stereotypes
by having the characters deal with the aftermath of an
event in history but still having them deal with it.
