Theme : Viewing myself as an individuals

I am writing about: An important event that had thought me one of the most important lessons in my
life. The day, 5 years ago, when I bought a ceramic vase from a little girl in a traditional art market in my
home country.

What I thought during the events: I was so surprised witnessing the little girl thrilled reaction as I gave
her money in exchange for her hand made vase. As a 8 years old girl, I was puzzled why she was so
excited receiving what I though as a small amount of money. An amount which would not make me
react the way she reacted. It took me a long time to unfold the reasons. Then I finally realized that what
I saw in the beam of the little girl eyes were gratitude and perseverance, and how powerful the virtues
are.

What I think or feel about the event now:

The even has thought me to learn about myself and other people. It triggered me to question what
made me and the little girl different, and what I can learn from her to be a better person.

I feel so grateful that I can pick up a valuable lesson from what seemingly unimportant life event.

How the event shaped or changed me

Before I met the girl, I never thought that being appreciative and being resilience is as an important
virtue of live. Meeting her is a first-hand life experience for me on witnessing positive outlooks of live
even in adversities. After meeting her make I become realize that everyone can be content and happy, if
they chose to be, regardless their life situation. I determined to be an individual who able to do so.

The theme (life lesson) of my reflection is : Viewing myself as an individuals
