GRISEOFULVIN BIOSYNTHESIS VIA ACETATE PATH WAY

biosynthesis of griseofulvin as from penicillium griseofulvin fermentation via iterative addition

of 6 malonyl CoA to acyl CoA, through 14 C poly β keto chain by enzyme aromatase to aromatise
and aldol condense to a benzophenone intermediate that is methylated via S adenosyl
methionine to griseofulvin C. Ortho halogenation of the left aromatic ring to form
griseophenone B. This undergoes oxidation on both rings via a grisan skeleton ortho methylation
dehydrogriseofulvin that stereoselectively reduce the olefic by NADPH to griseofulvin.

ERYTHROMYCIN SYNTHESIS BY ACETATE PATH WAY

Erythromycin A from bacterium sacharopolyspora erythracea. Erythromycin A gene transfered

from S erythracea to E Coli to produce two erythromycin analogues. (2s) methyl malonyl CoA
and propionyl CoA. The 6d EB molecule is converted to erythromycin A via biosynthesis by the
deoxy sugar.
