THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND

Introduction

What makes a graduate employable are the qualities and skills attributed like a

positive attitude, reliable, flexible and have the willingness to learn at all times that is why

it is very important for Universities or Colleges to develop globally competitive graduates

in order to cultivate educational excellence and to ensure an equal success not just only

within the University but rather in the world in general. Being employed after graduation

is the primary reason why students take their degrees. In year 2014, 2015 and 2016,

there are 41 graduates that took up the course of Bachelor of Secondary Education Major

in Social Studies.

The researchers conducted a Tracer Study to determine the Employment Status

of Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Social Studies graduates of University of

Rizal System, Antipolo Campus (URSAC). The extent of education is to enhance and

establish a highly and competent graduates to be more effective, adequate and relevant

in life and in employment of the country. The employability of graduates to different

institution is very important to note to identify the employment status of graduates whether

they are employed, unemployed and underemployed. This tracer study intends to show

the employability of teacher education graduates in University of Rizal System Antipolo

Campus (URSAC) in year 2014, 2015, and 2016 at the same time to figure out the

success of URS Antipolo to its educational efforts pertaining to the graduates.
