We are living a life in which national hero was part of an individuals history, mind and

specially in our hearts. Plays an important role in the previous years and was continuesly living
as a great inspiration of a person's life. As Gerard Way says " heroes are ordinary people who
make themselves extraordinary."

There's a lot of Philippines hero to be proud of the sacrifices they have given just to fight for
the right and just. Gender is not a hindrance to showcase your own capability to help and give
the helping hand that someone was aiming for. Just like a lady named Melchora Aquino who was
born to a poor family on January 6, 1812, She married Fulgencio Ramos, and gave him six
children. Her kindness and generosity were well known, and she did not turn away persons who
asked her for material help. Melchora Aquino was a literate and intelligent but she can't afford to
go to school. At an old age, she encounter different things and witness the revolution. She was
already old when the revolution broke out in 1986 and was tending a small sari sari store when
Bonifacio and other Katipuneros started the revolution. Her store become a refuge for sick and
wounded Katipuneros whom the old lady fed, treated and encouraged with her motherly advice
and prayers. At the age of 84, she became the “Mother of Philippine Revolution” for her selfless
support to the Katipuneros. She gave 100 sacks of rice and three carabaos to the group as well as
cured wounded Katipuneros, risking her own life in the process. Her good morality when she
treated the Katipunan was also an essential recipe for Katipunero's success. Her great service to
the Katipuneros gave her a prestige of being known by many titles such as "Grand Woman of the
revolution ". Mother of Balintawak and most remarkably Mother of Katipunan. Soon the
Spaniards learned about her activities, so they arrested her and she was sentenced to be exiled to
the Marianas islands. When the Americans took possession of the Philippines in 1898, Tandang
Sora, like other exiles returned to the Philippines, poor and aging. For a time, she lived with her
daughter Saturnina. On March 2, 1919, she died at the age of 107.

We should live a life not only for our own self but must also give a helping hand to the needy
even though it was risky. Age is not a hindrance to help but it was just a number not to be afraid
of. It is not too late to help and contribute to what you can do. You are able to do things and able
to make them into reality.
