Philosophy Statement

My goal for my future classroom is to challenge students and help them meet
their full potential. I will value the safety of all students because I believe that a learning
environment can only be successful if the students feel safe, comfortable, and invited. I
want students to have the freedom to express themselves and be creative. I think
having energy and making the students excited to learn is key.
Students are the future and they need to be challenged. Without being
challenged they will not move up to the next level of their education. Through this I will
learn each child’s learning style and help them grow in the way they need to be taught. I
also want to focus on group work because it can help students be successful in an
environment where they can gather ideas from others. By working with others, they can
change the atmosphere of the classroom and help their peers. Individual work will also
be a value of mine to see how much each student is learning and improving. Safety
will be key in my future classroom. Without feeling emotionally safe students will not be
comfortable sharing their ideas with others. They also will lack the personal connection
with other students and myself as a teacher. Being safe physically will also be extremely
important to me as a future teacher because children need to feel comfortable. They
need to be able to share what they are thinking and find their interests by being
creative. Having energy as a teacher will also be big in my classroom. When students
are excited to learn, they are also engaged. Without being engaged, students will not
grow to their full potential or have a deep understanding of the material.
