Growth Trajectory

In 9th grade I was reckless. I never wanted to cooperate with teachers. I left trash

everywhere and left class without permission. I was in danger of failing all my classes and I

wanted to change that. Now, as a 12th grader, I am prudent. I concentrate during class lectures

and pick up any mess I make. I also ask for permission to use privileges. I will be acting with

care for my future, as it is important.

Another trait I had in 9th grade was being ungrateful. I didn’t take advantage of tutoring

and extra credit. I was unappreciative of make up opportunities. I ignored every possible chance

to fix my grades and it was affecting me. I am now appreciative. I go to tutoring when the

teacher suggests it. I do all extra credit given and I complete any make up assignments. I will be

taking advantage of all opportunities given to me to be more successful.

A skill I had in 9th grade was basic communication. I spoke with average vocabulary and

was nervous to speak up in class. I was not paying attention to the people I talked to. Throughout

high school, I have made progress on effective communication. Now I am an active listener. I

have learned more advanced vocabulary and I am succinct and clear when speaking. I will be

able to effectively communicate with other individuals.

My behavior in 9th grade was discourteous. I was impolite to peers and teachers. I had no

respect for others and even criticized my classmates’ achievements. I had realized that people
were starting to get fed up with me. Now I am polite and kind to everyone. I show respect and

acknowledge achievements that aren’t my own. I will be gracious and positive overall in my

daily life.
