TENSES

Tenses adalah bentuk kata kerja untuk menunjukkan waktu terjadinya suatu peristiwa. Dalam enses dibagi menjadi 3
kelompok waktu besar yaitu sudah dilakukan /Lampau (Past Tenses), sedang dilakukan / Sekarang (Present Tenses) dan akan
dilakukan (Future Tense).

 PAST TENSES
1. Simple Past
 Untuk menyatakan bahwa suatu kegiatan, tindakan atau peristiwa itu
terjadi di waktu lampau dan sudah selesai pada waktu itu juga.
 Rumus :
a. Kalimat Verbal
(+) S + V2 + O
(- ) S + did + not + V1 + O
(?) Did + S + V1 + O + ?
b. Kalimat Nominal
(+) S + to be (Was / Were) + O
(- ) S + to be (Was / Were) + not + V1 + O
(?) To be (Was / Were) + S + V1 + O + ?

 Contoh :
(+) She went to the hospital yesterday
(- ) She did not go to the hospital yesterday.
(?) Did she go to the hospital yesterday?

(+) I was feel very well yesterday.

(- ) I was not feel very well yesterday.
(?) Was I feel very well yesterday?

(+) They were at home last night.

(- ) They weren’t at home last night.
(?) Were they at home last nidht?

(+) They visited grandfather two days ago.

(- ) They did not visit grandfather two days ago.
(?) Did they visit grandfather two days ago?

2. Past Continuous
 Untuk menyatakan bahwa suatu kegiatan, tindakan atau peristiwa yang
sedang berlangsung atau terjadi di suatu waktu tertentu di masa lampau.
 Rumus :
c. Kalimat Verbal
(+) S + was / were + Ving + O
(- ) S + was / were + not + Ving + O
(?) Was / Were + S + Ving + O + ?
d. Kalimat Nominal
(+) S + (Was / Were) + being + O
(- ) S + (Was / Were) + not + being + O
