Setting Mining or Mining Plus User Factors

Example: A group of samples was homogenized and split. A portion of each sample was sent to an outside lab for
analysis. The other portion was analyzed with the Innov-X analyzer.

The results of analysis prior to calibration are as follows:

All the measurements on the Innov-X analyzer are reading too low for Cu. In this case, it is necessary to calculate a
User factor that could be applied to this type of sample.

Procedure:

Plot the data on an XY scatter plot in excel. The Innov-X results must be on the X-axis, the Lab values on the Y-axis.
(*this order is important). Add a trend line and insert the equations

The slope and intercepts for these graphs can be entered directly into the analyzer. In some cases it is sufficient to
enter just a correction for the slope. In others the slope and intercept should be entered.

The software allows a user to enter multiple sets of User factors for different applications, or different ore bodies. A
group of factors is given a name, and then the factors are entered. The factors can then be selected by name.

To select the correct User Factor, follow the procedure above and choose “Select Model” OK
The Selected model name will now appear on the top of the screen. Go back to the measurement screen and
remeasure the samples.
