Conflict Resolution

Conflict Resolution
A conflict occurs when Kingdom objects being transferred all ready exist in a Petrel project.
When a conflict occurs, the Data Issues Found window displays with a separate tab for each
conflict type and number of conflicts.
There are three possible resolutions for duplicate objects:
• Skip—Duplicate object is ignored and does not transfer
• Update—Updates attributes of the existing object in target project
• Add—Adds duplicate object with appended name in target project

Note: Canceling without selecting a resolution will transfer only the non-conflicting objects.

Resolving Conflicts
Conflict resolution procedures are the same for Kingdom and Petrel transfers. However,
conflicts will never occur the first time an object is transferred back to Kingdom because the
objects name is appended with [Petrel] and thus viewed as a different object. If the same
object is transferred again, it will appear as a duplicate and require a resolution.

Apply to All
1. In the Global Duplicate Option list, select the resolution option.
