 CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION

A. Background of the Study

Propaganda is a type of message which contains misleading statements to influence

people. Propaganda could be spread through slogans, images, mass media, and speech
from the powerful individuals. After the end of the World War I, Treaty of Versailles
was signed as the symbol of the reconciliation by the allied and Germany. However, it
was criticize by the Germans because it would wreck their economy and it said that
Germany was the cause of World War I.
In 1924, Adolf Hitler as the leader of NAZI party, he spread propaganda through
his book Mein Kampf. In English Mein Kampf means my struggle. This book contains
Hitler’s perspective about Germany in the future and his plan to genocide Jewish. It
works and people start to believe Hitler that he could be the live saver for Germany.
This research will identify how Hitler wrote the powerful propaganda in his book
through the stylistic analysis.

B. Research Questions

1. What are the propaganda in the book Mein Kampf by Adolf Hitler?
2. How did Hitler used the propaganda to get the German society attention through
Mein Kampf?

C. Objectives of the Study

1. To find out the propaganda in the book Mein Kampf by Adolf Hitler.
2. To identify how Hiter used the propaganda to get German society attention through
Mein Kampf.

individuals or in any situations.
