AIN: Assalamualaikum and good morning doctor, my name is Nur Ain Syakira Bt Abdul Rahman, we

are from English proficiency 3 student want to interview doctor about urm... for our assignment. Could

doctor tell about your background and service at UPSI?

PROF. DR HUSNI: Ok urm… thank you for the question, urm… actually I start my position as lecturer

in biology department since 1998, then from there I was promoted as a senior lecturer in 2008 and then

as associate professor in 2017. Ok, urm… so basically I have an experience teaching in UPSI since the

first batch of the student. So now I’m serving UPSI for 20 years.

KUNAVATHI: Good morning doctor, my name is Kunavathi. I will proceed to the next question. Can

I proceed doctor?

PROF. DR HUSNI: Ok, go on…

KUNAVATHI: As said before, doctor has been engrossed in many activities and programs. Recently,

doctor organized program which is “Bimbingan Bitara” which involving UPSI and school students. So,

this is one of the contribution of doctor to UPSI. What are the other contribution doctor have been given

to community?

PROF. DR HUSNI: Ok, urm… thank you for the question. Urm… Actually urm… we try to engage

this university, UPSI with community around us. Urm…we have been urm… from a previous year, we

have been to rumah anak yatim, we have been clean the waterfall with the community. I’m still

remember with the Majlis Daerah Kampar. Then urm…of course we go to the school and give some

urm…motivation for the student to urm… or to encourage them to study science. Ok, because I’m from

biology department so we try to encourage them. So there are lot of school involved since urm… 2000

until now.

KUNAVATHI: There are so many contribution doctor have been given to the community. As a student,

we are proud of urm… being a doctor’s student. So, thank you for the urm… answer doctor.

PROF. DR HUSNI: Ok… thank you very much.

BALQIS: Assalamualaikum doctor, I’m Balqis. I going to give you next question. So, doctor has held

many position in UPSI as Head of Biology Department, then Director of IPMO and Deputy of Division

Corporate Planning and Communication. So, my question is…How doctor arrange the time between

families and career also how doctor able to give commitment towards the position been held?

PROF. DR HUSNI: Ok. Urm…Actually urm…the contribution to the university is a emas actually we

start working from 8 to 5 then after that we spend with family urm…over time with family so there is

no problem with that. And then our urm…university also give a flexible time for the lecturer to

urm…meaning that you do not have check in at 8 and then you go out at 5 so you can check in at 10

and go out at 7 okey, but for admin position of course you have to be in the office since 8 o’clock until

5 o’clock then after than you can urm… be together with your family. There are no problem for me

because they use to that.

BALQIS: Then how doctor give commitment towards all the position because there are so many

position that you have been held?

PROF. DR HUSNI: I think I love to give contribution urm… I feel so guilty if I cannot give anything

to the urm… my.. my boss you know not because urm.. no because of I try to show off but I think urm…

they trust me and then I pay back their trust.

BALQIS: You are such good man and then I’m proud to be your student and thank you doctor for your

answer.

PROF. DR HUSNI: Ok. Thank you very much.

IZZATI: Okey.. Assalamualaikum doctor. My name is Nur Izzati binti Muhammad Roslan. Urm… I

want to ask doctor one question. Urm… “Rakan Alam Sekitar” club is one of the club that was doctor

established. How did doctor get the idea of forming this club at UPSI.

PROF. DR HUSNI: Okey, First of all I think urm… Thank you for the question. I think urm.. because

I’m study about environment and I do concern about urm… the problem that we are facing today. So I

three I try to share this problem with my student so I creat this society or the urm.. Rakan Alam Sekitar

for those who are share the same feeling towards environment. Not all people can show their urm…
passionate towards rakan urm… environment. So I did the volunteer that we can be together and do

something to the environment so that part of our responsibility towards environment have been done

IZZATI: That’s mean doctor a nature lover?

PROF. DR HUSNI: Urm… some “kot” yes nature lover. And I like nature and then because that’s

why I take biology as my major course then I try because what I think is a teacher should have this

feeling a good feeling towards environment as well. That’s why I try calcite this culture in UPSI

community.

IZZATI: thank you doctor.

PROF. DR HUSNI: okey

ATHIRAH: Okey doctor… as we know “Rakan Alam Sekitar” club session 18/19 has run some

recycling project at University and Light Off at old campus. So, based on that project, can you tell me

urm.. can doctor tell me what are the benefit that students and society will get?

PROF. DR HUSNI: Okey, thank you for the question urm… okey I think first of all I try to promote

volunteerism among students urm… UPSI student so that we can pre this spirit went you are posting to

the school in the future. Okey… So the benefit is the training that you urm… get now you can apply it

when you became a teacher in the future. I think urm… it is urm… you know the the urm… for the

school I think this is the value added that urm… graduate from UPSI have. They have the volunteerism

spirit and they can contribute to the school, the school will appreciate it.

ATHIRAH: Alright. So there are so many responsibility that doctor hold. We always pray to doctor
