Childhood v. Adulthood
There are many similarities and differences when it comes to childhood and adulthood.
No one trait is more important than the other. They are all very important aspects in the human
life. They are all roles of growing up. Some of the traits include: responsibilities, independence,
and freedom. These are three things that vary greatly between a person’s childhood and their
adulthood.
When a person is still a child, their responsibilities usually are not that important. Most of
the time children have an attitude where they do not care. While in the childhood stage of our
lives, our parents usually help us with our responsibilities. They make sure we are not
overwhelmed with things to do. They take care of a lot of things for us. Parents also keep us
from being completely independent when we are children. Next, they provide us with a place to
live along with food to eat. When we are children our parents always make sure we do not have
to worry about much. Although they make us do some things by ourselves, most of the time they
help us with the stuff we have to do. Finally, we do not have as much freedom when we are
children. For example, some parents have a curfew for when their child must be home. Also,
most cities have curfew for people under 18. If the child’s parents are very strict then they have
the responsibilities that come with their job, as well as the responsibilities of paying for things
that they need. The responsibility of paying for things also goes along with being independent.
They have to buy or rent them a place to live. They also have to go to the store and buy their own
food. Most of the time the person has to face a problem by themselves, unless they have a
spouse. As an adult people have a little more freedom. They can buy certain things that children
are not allowed to. They do not have to obey their parents’ rules anymore. The only thing they
have to obey is the law, at least when they are not at work. They do not have to be home at a
certain time, and they can also stay awake as long as they would like to. They do not have
parents watching their every move. They do not have someone constantly telling them what to do
These are just three traits of being a child and an adult. There are many more differences
and similarities. For example, the things you know as a child and the things that you know as an
adult. All the differences and similarities are very important in growing up. They all help make
