Regdren: Hello. Nice to meet you.

Aelis: *smiles* Nice to meet you too! How's it going?

Regdren: It's going okay. I thought I'd backtrack and see what I could find here while
waiting
Regdren: for a 24-hour meditation.
Aelis: Ah, 24 hour meditations. I rarely had the patience for those. *chuckles*
Aelis: And what do you think of the game so far?
Regdren: I am still very new to the game though, so maybe this isn't a bad place for me
to be. As for what I think...
Regdren: The nature of the game kinda confuses me. It looks like an exploration and
puzzle game, but a lot of the talk is about fighting other players, as well the name of the
game is magicduel. =p
Aelis: *nods* There's so much more than fighting to it.
Aelis: Of course there is the fighting bit, but there a lot of things to do, explore,
roleplay, find your own role within the realm.
Aelis: That's the beauty of it, you can shape the way it goes through your actions.
Regdren: I am definitely more interested in the exploring than the fighting.
Aelis: So, if sometimes it looks a bit boring, take a break and come back later. In my
opinion the wait is totally worth it!
Regdren: Right now I'm mostly focused on the story because my movement in free
mode is pretty restricted.
Aelis: Actually there is a discussion going on to change these first aspects of the game.
Regdren: Interesting. Could you tell me more about it?
Aelis: Do you mind if I give them some feedback based on this conversation of ours?
Regdren: Not at all. Feel free to ask me more questions as well.

Aelis: Awesome.
Aelis: So, the whole thing is happening on the forums. Because the current tutorial was
designed a long time ago and it might look not too appealing to newcomers.
Aelis: And they want to change it to a more newbie-friendly version while still keeping
the core ideas (which is the hard part, I guess)
Regdren: I don't actually mind the tutorial phase at all.
Aelis: Have you chosen your principles yet?
Regdren: The only thing I wished it explained was about how movement can be more
taxing depending on how many people go through a location.
Regdren: I've chosen my principles and right now I'm at the part in the story where a
clown just hit me on the head.
Aelis: Ah, yes, the movement thing is the infamous viscosity.
Regdren: I don't object to it as a mechanic, I just wish it was mentioned in the tutorial.
Aelis: *nods* I see. And what did you think of the principle choosing interface? Was it
clear?
Regdren: I thought it was designed to be mysterious so it's hard to give a good answer
for that
Aelis: Heh, you're good!
Aelis: I have a feeling you'll stick around. *grins*
Regdren: Thanks. I chose darkness because the description interested me, and then
imagination because the description said is worked well with darkness

Aelis: So, I think that's it for the mini-interview. Is there anything you want to ask
about?
Regdren: Not so much ask, but...in this early part of the game right after the tutorial
Aelis: Oh, and here.. a gift!
: Aelis passed Rainbow candy to Regdren
Regdren: Oh, thanks!
Regdren: What I was going to say was...
Regdren: It's a bit frustrating to not be able to do much in free mode yet (as far as I can
tell) , and in story mode I read less than a page of text, wait 24 hours, repeat.
Regdren: So I'm waiting day after day for a sign that things will improve and I can
explore more interesting places
Regdren: and perhaps solve a puzzle or two.
Regdren: I know the game is supposed to be played slowly.
Regdren: but right now I feel like I'm barely playing it at all.

Aelis: I understand. I had this feeling too.

Aelis: I would advise you to try the player created quests.
Regdren: Okay. How do I access those?
Aelis: There are some awesome ones. You can find them at the small sign at the MDP
(we love acronyms here, this one goes for Marble Dale Park)
Aelis: It's the park where the carnival goes on.
Aelis: Have you tried the Berserker's puzzle yet?
Regdren: I didn't even know that there was a puzzle I could try. So far the objects I
click say I can't do anything with them yet.
Aelis: Ah, you mean the ones that open up a pop-up window?
Regdren: yeah.
Aelis: We call them clickables - or clickies -, players can store information in them
(after you reach a certain point)
Aelis: So almost everything you'll find on those are player-made stuff
Aelis: Lots of quests happen through those.
Aelis: Sometimes there's no info on a certain clickie.
Aelis: And sometimes even if you can't see it, some clicklies will give you the info if
you say (type) the right words.
Aelis: They're usually part of quests.
Aelis: Sometimes there's no info on a certain clickie.
Aelis: And sometimes even if you can't see it, some clicklies will give you the info if
you say (type) the right words.
Aelis: They're usually part of quests.
Regdren: The other thing I noticed is, it's really tough for me to level up my creatures
with wins when I'm at the bottom of the power tree.
Aelis: *nods* The first fights can be a bit frustrating. But you'll get used to it in no time.
Aelis: Let me find you something.
Regdren: I'd rather you didn't.
Regdren: The reason is
Regdren: New players should be able to progress through their own skill. If they need
the help of stronger players, that speaks to a problem with the game system. In my
opinion.
Aelis: I agree. I was going to show you a pinned topic on the forum with some basic
hints regarding combat.
Aelis: But I'm sure you can find it yourself.
Regdren: Ah, okay. I reacted the way I did because someone offered me an aged
creature, or more than one. When I refused more than one player reacted as though I
was insane.
Aelis: Then my advice is: the forum is your friend. But don't get too addicted to it.
Some players stay so much on the forums that they forget about the game itself.
Aelis: *laughs* I see.
Aelis: So, shall we go to the Berserker's Puzzle?
Regdren: I know, more or less, how combat works. Right now my ritual is 2 barrens, 2
ar (a) mors, 2 grasas. All unleveled, because it's a basic starting setup. I find that very
few other players are at such a lo
Regdren: *low level.
Regdren: And sure.
