Objective To utilize knowledge of the Japanese language and culture with students in K-12
classrooms as a co-learner, by showing students how Japanese can be relevant in the
real world and encouraging global citizenship. To create an environment where students
feel empowered and are encouraged to be curious and take risks while equipping them
with learning and study strategies that they can take out of the classroom and into college.
To become a teacher that is both a mentor and guide to students with equitable practices.
Teaching Troy High School and Troy Athens High School, Troy, MI November 2018– April 2019
Experience Student Teaching Internship, 9th-12th Grade Japanese Classrooms, 1st-3rd Year Japanese
Instructed students according to Troy School District’s Japanese language curriculum
Developed rapport with students and maintained a positive classroom environment
