Project : DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OF ROBOTIC MOBILIZATION DEVICE FOR HANDICAPE PEOPLE

Status : Submitted  

1.  What Progress you have made in the Project ?

Worked on balancing of vehicle in standing and seating position, learned about welding on MS, Steel, Aluminium, We also take guidance of our colleges technical clubs who
have done this welding before. Designing the mountings of DC motors and linear actuator.

2.  What challenge you have faced ?

Which materials to use in fabrication of device, like mild steel or stainless steel or aluminium, the welding of that material with thin cross section is possible or not? How to
mount the motor so it can provide the torque but not support the bending or radial loads on its transmission shaft, Because the bending moment or radial load on driving
shaft of DC Motor can seriously harm the life of Dc Motors Gearbox and Internal Bearings. Also the linear actuator have to bear only the linear load on its principle axis, the
bending moment on it harm the power screw of linear actuator.

3.  What support you need ?

Guidance about the welding feasibility in materials selected and how to avoid melting of thin cross section material? Guidance in designing the mountings of DC motor and
linear Actuator.

4.  Which literature you have referred ?

Patented drawings of wheelchair searched on Indian Patent Office Database about electric wheelchair and standing wheelchair, google images showing Center of gravity of
Human Body in Seating Positions.
