Universal Design for Learning (UDL):

Engagement: This activity will be engaging because it is one where the entire class can participate. The
activity is done through a electronic tool, Quizlet. This allows for all students to get equal engagement from
the activity through their electronic devices.
Representation: For representation, I have given the students options on whether they would like to use their
phone, tablet, or computer to complete the activity.
Action and Expression: For action and expression, I will let the class vote on which review games we will play
that are built inside Quizlet. There are many different options to choose from.
Describe the instructional activities that will occur PRIOR to the SRT activity and how you will introduce
the SRT activity.
This activity will serve as a review game. This means that it is coming at the end of a unit where the students
have learned about Civil Rights. I will introduce the activity by showing the students the terms in the set and
saying them aloud as a class so everyone can learn them before we start the games.
Describe the purpose of the SRT activity (check all that apply):
☐ Assess prior knowledge ☐ Anticipatory set (Create interest in a topic) ☐ To illuminate common
misconceptions ☐ Formative assessment of content knowledge (for purpose of differentiation and
mastery for ALL students) ☐ Summative assessment of content knowledge ☒ Test preparation

☐ Survey/Poll ☐ Discussion starter ☐ “Homework” collection ☐ Other (please explain):

Briefly describe what will happen DURING the SRT activity:

For this activity, students will get out an electronic device. They have a choice of using a tablet, phone, or
computer. Electronic devices will be provided where needed for students who don’t own one. I will show the
students the different review games Quizlet has to offer. I will explain how each one works. I will then let
them vote for three games to play. After playing the games, this will give me statistics on what the students
know really well for the test and what they might be struggling with.
Type of questions/prompts used in this activity (check all that apply):
☐ Multiple choice ☒ Multiple select ☐ True/False ☐ Yes/No
☐ Short open-ended response or fill-in the blank ☐ Longer open-ended response

If you are unable to provide a working sample of your questions, please list them below (8-10):

Right/Wrong answers: Will there be right/wrong answers to these questions?

☒ Yes ☐ No
☐ Mixed (Some will have correct answers, other will not.)
Immediate corrective feedback: Will you pre-select correct answers to some of all of the questions and
display correct response to the class after the SRT activity?
☒ Yes
☐ No
Why or why not?

Describe what will happen AFTER the SRT activity? After the activity, I will pick up on the concepts the
students struggled with. We will review those concepts again, so they are strong with them going into the
test.

How will the data be used?

The data will be collected to give the teacher and idea on what concepts from the unit the students are strong
with and what concepts the students are weak with. After gathering this information, it will show the teacher
the concepts they need to go back over for the test.
Describe your personal learning goal for this activity.
I hope to get more familiar with Quizlet. I also will see after the students test scores if this was an effective
review game or not.
Reflective Practice: This assignment could support student learning because it allows for full participation for
all students. Since everyone is using their own device, it gives the students equal chances to learn. This also
gives a chance for students to learn more about Quizlet so they can use it to study on their own time for other
tests as well.
