Abstract

Antioxidant compounds can reduce the adverse effects of free radicals on the skin.
Apple Skin Extract (Malus domesticus) is rich in antioxidants because many
contain flavonoids. This study aims to determine the concentration of ethanol
extract of apple peel made in the preparation of bath soap to meet the evaluation
requirements for the preparation of bath soap. The bath soap formula from the
ethanol extract of apple peel is made in different concentrations of 2%, 4% and 6%
which are made from 500 grams of mashed apple skin and then immersed in 70%
ethanol for 3x24 hours of chili sauce occasionally stirred. Evaluation of bath soap
preparations included observations of organoleptic tests, homogeneity tests, pH
tests, and high foam tests. The evaluation results of the preparation of apple soap
ethanol extract of apple peel showed that formula 3 with a concentration of 6% was
stable in aspects of consistency, homogeneity, color, and odor.
