Army Limitations
Each player is paired with their team mate, and each will bring a force of no more than 500pts. The team’s army therefore will total no more than 1000pts
combined. The 1000pts army must also conform to the standard force organization chart.
Additionally:
• Both forces must include at least one troops choice (thereby filling the minimum two troops choices for the army). If the forces are Battle Brothers
this rule does not apply and one force can contain the minimum two troops selections. Only one force need satisfy the minimum need for a single
HQ choice for the army whether or not they are Battle Brothers.
• An army cannot include a second Elite, Fast Attack or Heavy Support choice until it includes one of each of these unit types. i.e. in this Warhammer
40,000 Doubles Tournament an army of 1000pts must contain one Elite, one Fast Attack and one Heavy Support choice before you can include a
second Elite, Fast Attack or Heavy Support.
• The same applies for a third Elite, Fast Attack or Heavy Support choice, the 1000pts army must contain two Fast Attack, two Elite and two Heavy
Support before a third Elite, Fast Attack or Heavy Support choice can be included.
• All models must be PAINTED Citadel miniatures of the appropriate type for the troops they represent.
• Minimum painting standards are three colours on each model in an appropriate scheme. Models should also be appropriately based. Suffice to say
that an undercoat is not enough!
• You may use converted Citadel miniatures to represent troop types that are not yet available.
• Non-Citadel miniatures are not permitted in the tournament and will be removed in the same way as unpainted miniatures.
• Conversions must begin as Citadel miniatures and contain a majority of Citadel Components. If you are in any doubt about the validity of your
conversion please contact your local Games Workshop store.

Army Limitations
Each player selects a 750pts Force. You may not spend more than 750pts, although you may spend fewer points. Your army is made up from two forces,
which are chosen using the rules below. The team’s army therefore will total no more than 1,500pts combined.
Additionally:
• Each force must have at least one Hero capable of leading it as General. Each force must have at least one Core unit.
• The army must conform to the normal selection criteria for a 1,500 point army, which is as follows: 1-3 Heroes, 2+ Core, 0-3 Special, 0-1 Rare. No
Lords may be selected.
• If a race-specific selection criterion exists in your Army List then the force must satisfy it; for example, a Bretonnian force must take a Battle
Standard Bearer and another Hero to be the General.
• If the two forces are Battle Brothers, the criteria need only be satisfied once for the entire army. For example, two Bretonnian forces need only
provide one Battle Standard Bearer in the army.
• Within the army each individual Magic Item or Magic Banner may only be selected once.

Army Limitations
Each team will need two 300pts Forces (either both Good or both Evil) selected as normal from the Legions of Middle-earth book making up one 600pts
Army. Army selection is slightly different from normal to take into account that this is a doubles tournament.
• The model limit is worked out across the whole 600pts Army (i.e. 3 -75).
• If a model’s points value in its sourcebook is different from that in Legions, the sourcebook takes precedence.
• The Bow Limit is worked out per 300pts Force (33% of the Warriors; Grey Company are the exception as described in Legions)
• Number of War Machines is worked out per 600pts Army (0-3).
• As per the Legions book each Force must contain a hero.
• Break point is across the whole Army and any Hero’s Stand Fast can affect warriors from both Forces.
• Both Forces must be able to able to ally with each other.
• No duplicating of Named Heroes across the Army (including spider queens, white wizards etc…)
• No player may take, Gollum, Tom Bombadil, or a model with the One Ring.
As, in this tournament, Good armies may have to battle Good, and Evil battle Evil, some additional clarification is needed for some minor rules. If you
have any queries regarding other rules, don’t hesitate to contact the event organisers prior to the event, as rules queries on the day will be dealt with by a
referee whose decision is final, whether you like it or not!
Abilities that reduce enemy courage, fight value etc... within a certain distance work on enemy models. This includes abilities like the Harbinger of Evil,
Moria Drums, Shades, Banners, Mahud Kings’ affects on Mahud Warriors, Malbeth’s Foresight etc…
In games where two Good armies are against each other, neither can shoot into combat. The opposite is true of two Evil armies as both can shoot into
combat. It may occur that two named heroes face each other. This is fine, may the best general triumph!
To avoid confusion, all distances will be in given in inches and all games will be played in inches, not centimetres.
