The public relations team developed the problem statement: “What must Tenet
Healthcare execute to remain competitive in not only the next fiscal year, but also the next five to
fifteen years in the Dallas-Fort Worth-Dallas, Texas area? As director of public relations for the
Tenet Healthcare corporation, I propose that we tackle the issue of women and heart disease to

can partner with other organizations who combat against smoking cessation. We can tell the
public that women above the age 35 who smoke have a higher risk to die of heart disease than

The public relations team aims to develop a strategic communication plan to increase the
number of patients in our hospitals to raise awareness of heart disease in women exponentially
within the next year. We have created a timeline for your approval. We can implement the
strategy October 1, 2019. At the beginning of the third quarter, April 2020, the public relations
team along with marketing, and other components of the corporate communications will conduct
a thorough review of the strategy. We anticipate the plan to be enduring. Please feel free to ask
any questions. We feel that the plan will push Tenet Healthcare further ahead of our competitors.
