AME „POLYHYMNIA“-SKOPJE
Organize International Festival “POLYHYMNIA” for flute, clarinet, trumpet, oboe, horn,
violin, violoncello, guitar, piano, singing and chamber music for school and university
students
March 27th- 31th, 2019

This International Festival “Polyhymnia” will include international competition for flute, clarinet,
trumpet, violin, violoncello, piano, singing and chamber music. During the Festival will be a music
workshop for flute, clarinet, trumpet, oboe, violoncello, singers students and chamber music students,
opening concert of the Festival with the guests from Serbia, Montenegro, Slovenia and Italy and final
concert of the Festival with the best contestants of the competition.
This International Festival “Polyhymnia”is organized by Association of music educators AME- Polyhymnia-
Skopje, with the support of Ministry of Culture of Macedonia, City of Skopje, CIC.
The purpose of the Festival is to discover music talents, gifted music students, to develop the chamber
music, comparing the level of music education in Macedonia with the foreign participants and schools at
the Festival, exchanging teaching experiences and methods.
1. The International Festival “Polyhymnia” will be held at Skopje, Macedonia from March 27th-31th2019.
The competition will include the following instruments: flute, clarinet, trumpet, oboe, horn, violin,
violoncello, guitar, piano, singing, and chamber ensembles (piano duo, any instrument with piano,
duet, trio, quartet, quintet, sextet, septet, octet, nonet- string or wind instruments, vocal, accordions).
2. During the Festival will be a music workshop for flute, clarinet, trumpet, horn, violoncello, guitar,
singers students and chamber music students. The Music workshop will include individual and group
classes in agreement with the lecturer and the number of registered participants.
3. The competitors will be divided in several categories, the competitors will perform a programme
consisting of two or three compositions of their own choice with a time limit. In the second and third
category one composition should be a sonata form.

FLUTE, CLARINET, TRUMPET, OBOE, HORN


1st Category: primary school students
pre-category 2009 and younger- no longer than 3 minutes
2 grade- no longer than 4 minutes
3 grade -no longer than 5 minutes
4 grade- no longer than 5 minutes
5 grade- no longer than 8 minutes
6 grade - no longer than 8 minutes
Compositions by free choice.

2nd Category: secondary school students


1 year (2004, 2003) - no longer than 10 minutes
2 year (2003, 2002)- no longer than 12 minutes
3 year (2002, 2001)- no longer than 15 minutes
4 year (2001, 2000)- no longer than 17 minutes
Compositions by free choice.
One composition should be a sonata form or part of cycle
One composition will be perform by heart.

3rd Category: university students


1 ,2 year- no longer than 20 minutes
3, 4 year - no longer than 25 minutes
Composition by free choice.
One composition should be a sonata form or part of cycle.
One composition will be perform by heart.

VIOLIN, VIOLONCELLO, PIANO, GUITAR


1st Category: primary school students
born 2010 and younger- no longer than 3 minutes
born 2009 - no longer than 5 minutes
born 2008 - no longer than 5 minutes
born 2007 - no longer than 8 minutes
born 2006 - no longer than 8 minutes
born 2005 - no longer than 10 minutes
born 2004 - no longer than 12 minutes
Compositions by free choice, from different epochs, performed by heart.

2nd Category: secondary school students


2nd A Category -1 year and 2 year - no longer than 15 minutes
2nd B Category - 3 year and 4 year - no longer than 20 minutes

3rd Category: faculty students

FIRST CATEGORY: primary school students

1st Category A- born 2009 and 2008- no longer than 6 minutes.
1st Category B- born 2007 and 2006- no longer than 8 minutes
1st Category C- born 2005 and 2004- no longer than 10 minutes

SECOND CATEGORY: secondary school students


2nd Category A- 1 and 2 year- no longer than 12 minutes
2nd Category B- 3 and 4 year- no longer than 15 minutes
2nd Category C- second instrument- no longer than 12 minutes
One composition should be a sonata form or part of cycle

THIED CATEGORY: university students


3rd Category A- 1 and 2 year.- no longer than 15 minutes
3rd Category B- 3 and 4 year.- no longer than 20 minutes
One composition should be a sonata form or part of cycle.

CATEGORY PROFESSIONAL for flute, clarinet, trumpet, oboe, horn, violin, violoncello, guitar, piano,
singing, and chamber ensembles
Professional musicians, age limit 32 years old- no longer than 40 minutes program.
Program: at least tree compositions with different character and epoch, one compositions should be a
sonata form or part of cycle

4. ENTRY FEE:
-Entry fee for flute, clarinet, trumpet, horn, violin, violoncello, guitar, piano categories:
1st Category: 1200 den. (20e.), 2st Category: 1800 den. (30 e.) and 3rd : 2400 den. (40 e.)
-Category Professionals, entry fee- 3000den. (50 e)
-Entry fee for chamber music category: first category 600 den.(10e.) per participant, second 900den.(15
e.) per participant and third category 1200den. (20 e.) per participant
- Entry fee for category second instrument-piano, flute, clarinet, violin, violoncello, singing:
First category: 1200 den. (20 e.), second category: 1200 den.(20 e.),Third category: 1500den. (25 e.)
-Entry fee for singing :
1st Category: 1200 den,(20 e.) 2st,, 3rd : 1800 den.(30 e.) 4rd, 5rd Category: 2400den.(40e.)
-Foreign competitors can pay their entry fee after arriving at the competition.
If the competitors should decide to cancel their participation, there will be no money refund.
Competitors that will be applicant in two categories will pay half of the entry fee in that second category.
Entry fee for the workshop for piano, flute, clarinet, violin, violoncello, singers 1200den.(20 e). Participant
of the Festival may participate at the workshop for free as passive participants.

5. Applications will not be accepted after 10th of March 2019 and have to be sent to the following e-mail
address: polyhymniazmp@gmail.com or online registration on our web site: www.polyhymnia.com.mk
Apart from the application form the competitors must also submit:
-birth certificate;
-proof of paid entry fee.

6. Competitors will be given diplomas for participating to the competition or won prize, and for the most
successful in the all categories, one competitor will receive the title “Competition Laureate”. The number
of prizes is not limited only for wining Laureate.
7. The organizer will provide piano accompaniment for the competitors who do not have one, for the fee
of 1200den. (20 e.)- for primary school students, 2100den. (35 e.)- for secondary school students and
3000den. (50 e.)- for faculty students.
8. Participants and competitors will pay for their accommodation, traveling and food expenses.
9. The last day of the festival is reserved for the workshop and consultations with the jury.
10. There will be final concert where will perform the best competitors of the competition and the most
successful will receive diploma “Competition Laureate” and awards from the organizers.
11. The organizer has the right to record, copy, and broadcast the program, if some of the participants
don’t want to be record they should announce that to the organizer before the start of the festival and
they will be left out of the record material.
