7th Vienna International Music Competition

I INTRODUCTION

The Franz Schubert Conservatory (,,Franz Schubert Konservatorium” für Musik und darstellende Kunst)
established at 1867.

The Franz Schubert Music Conservatory is the oldest private music conservatory in Vienna.

II The FRANZ SCHUBERT CONSERVATORY of Vienna in collaboration with „International


Festival of Contemporary Music“ is pleased to announce a call for submissions for the ,,VIENNA
INTERNATIONAL MUSIC COMPETITION“ (for musicians and composers of all ages and
nationalities).

III All entries must be received no later than March 21, 2022.

IV The competitors personal data, CV and the piece (with title and composers name; or video for all
another sections) must be submitted in PDF – Format or Video link (YouTube) and send
to: competition.fsk@gmail.com

V The results of the competition will be published on April 3rd, 2022.

CATEGORIES

CATEGORIES (COMPOSITION ): No Age Limit

• The Competition is divided in 12 Sections (Categories):

1. CAT. – Solo Instruments (without piano)- ; with a maximum duration of 15 minutes

2. CAT. – Piano Solo- ; with a maximum duration of 15 minutes


3. CAT. – Chamber Music (from 1 to 12 players); with a maximum duration of 25 minutes

4. CAT. – Orchestra pieces; with a maximum duration of 30 minutes

5. CAT. - Voices (solo, ensemble or choir); with a maximum duration of 15 minutes

6. CAT. – Folklore Section; with a maximum duration of 15 minutes

7. CAT – Young Composer International Prize – (solo, ensemble or orchestra); applicants born on or
after 1st January 2005.

8. CAT – Young Composer International Prize – (solo, ensemble or orchestra); applicants born on or
after 1st January 2002.

9. CAT – Jazz and Film Music Section (solo, ensemble, orchestra or big band); with a maximum
duration of 10 minutes

10. CAT – Electronic Music; with a maximum duration of 20 minutes

The entry fee is 50€ for 1st piece and 30 Euro for 2nd piece and 10 Euro for 3rd piece.

The Absolute Winner for each Category is the competitor who gained the highest score, but not less
than 98/100. - For the 1st Absolute Prize: Prize of 500 Euros, World Premiere (Concerto, CD) and
Diploma.

(I piano - II all instruments - chamber music - orchestra - folklore section – voices)

1. CAT. - Young musicians born after 01/01/20012. Free program with a maximum duration of 3
minutes.

2. CAT. - Young musicians born after 01/01/2009. Free program with a maximum duration of 5
minutes.

3. CAT. -Young musicians born after 01/01/2006. Free program with a max. duration of 5 minutes.

4. CAT. – Young musicians born after 01/01/2003. Free program with a max. duration of 5 minutes.
5. CAT. – Young musicians born after 01/01/2000. Free program with a max. duration of 7 minutes.

6. VIRTUOSO – na age limit. Free program with a max. duration of 7 minutes.

7. CAT. – Chamber Music (Classical instrumental groups, from 2 to 9 players). Free program with a
max. duration of 6 minutes.

8. CAT. – Orchestra (Folklore and Classical instrumental groups). Free program with a max.

duration of 6 minutes.

9. CAT. – Choir and Voices. Free program with a max. duration of 6 minutes.

10. CAT. - Jazz, Woodwind ensemble and Big Bands. Free program with a max. duration of 6

minutes.

The entry fee is 50€ for 1st piece/video and 30 Euro for 2nd piece/video.

PRIZES:

1° CLASS. (95-100 points) – 250 Euro and 1st Prize diploma

2° CLASS. (90 - 94,99 points) - 2nd Prize diploma

3° CLASS. (80 - 89,99 points) - 3rd Prize diploma
