Reflection on task 1

In the first task, I do an interview with my mentor school teacher and

collected some information about the diagnostic assessment.

Diagnostic assessment "is a form of pre-assessment that allows a

teacher to determine students' individual strengths, weaknesses,
knowledge, and skills prior to instruction. It is primarily used to diagnose
student difficulties and to guide lesson and curriculum planning." (Robert,
2018)

Furthermore, according to the interview with my mentor school

teacher, the teacher has prepared a diagnostic assessment for students
in the math such as, fractions and decimals, add and subtract fractions
also multiply and divide fraction, The teacher sets the assessment
according to the curriculum, some assessment is at the end of the lesson,
and some at the end of the unit

Moreover, there are many interests in diagnostic assessment for

educators and teachers. To begin with, diagnostic assessment benefit
teachers to know their student's ability and it backing the students in
their learning process. For example, the diagnostic assessment will give
the teachers details about educators strengths and weaknesses, so they
will prepare the best education that will support their students. Second,
diagnostic assessment presents improvement results after learning. I
think teachers can test their educators by the begging of the year and at
the end, so the teacher will know if their learners have improved and
developed or not and it will help them to plan for the next year. Lastly,
create classes that have the same abilities of students. For instance,
having classes with the same learning abilities will help the teacher to
choose the best teaching strategy, focus on specific things that will
improve the whole class, such as, reading or speaking ability that exist in
all students. make classes that have similar capacities of understudies.
For example, having classes with a similar learning capacity will assist the
educator with choosing the best approach, and center around particular
things that will improve the entire class, for example, add and subtract,
divide and multiply.
