Reflection

What I learned from my time while doing a service-learning project in Business 2200, is

quite outstanding. I learned how to work in a group that has a multi-step process, like creating

a strategic communications plan. It also helped me realize that you have to pull your own

weight and just can leave it up to someone else to do it for you. As our project was a multi-step

project, we had to divide the tasks among everyone, and with helping The Utah Food Drive as

our service-learning we knew we had a lot of ground to cover.

That is why we decided to do a virtual food drive, which was not hard to do so and it

would be the most efficient way of doing a food drive due to everyone’s busy schedule. What

was the most important part of the food drive were the channels we choose, which included

text, email’s, flyer’s, social media posts and a video to go along with all of it. This part taught me

a good deal on how to stay in constant communication, as I was the one in charge of creating

the social media posts, so I had to communicate with everyone else about getting their

channels to me to post to social media. Which meant I would be the last one to complete my

channel.

Overall, this service learning project taught me a great deal of business tactics but at the

same time on how to implement them to the real world and even to some aspects of my life,

mostly being more efficient.
