Internal Assessment in History: Preparatory Work

In some remaining lessons of this term you will make some progress on your internal
assessment for History. The deadline for the first draft of this work will be at the start
of the Autumn Term. Guidance will be given on how to structure each section, but this
is very much your project. The first thing to do is decide what you want to investigate,
and what sources you need to use to do so.

Outline why you have
chosen this question
Provide an overview of
how the main body of
the essay will be
structured
(NOTE: Be specific –
comments like “I will look
at the social, then the
economic, factors, then
come to a conclusion” is
not good enough).
Give the titles and
authors of at least three
non-website sources
you will use
(NOTE: These should
NOT be standard
textbooks but books
particularly focusing on
the topic you have set
yourself)
Give the web addresses
of any relevant
websites here
(NOTE: these should not
be general websites like
Wikipedia or
ActiveHistory. Again, they
need to be specific).
