Zsuzsanna Zacharias: Personal Statement

Growing up I always wanted to be a teacher. When my classmates that lived near me were sick
and couldn’t make it to school, I was more than happy to bring them the homework and relay the
course material to them with much pleasure. My parents never understood why I loved spending
time at sick kids’ homes so much. I understand now that educating and caring for others at the
same time has always been my passion. That is the reason why I chose to become an insurance
professional. What truly sets me apart from most sales people is that I take my time to explain
all details of the insurance proposals. I take the complicated insurance terms and “translate” them
to every day occurrences that people can relate to and understand.
I am currently enrolled at South College of Florida pursuing my Risk Management Degree.
Additionally, I am also in the process of completing my CIC (Certified Insurance Counselor)
designation, which is an insurance designation that consists of five sections. I also hold a 220
insurance license that requires continuing education every two years. I truly enjoy being in a
professional setting and always learning. Learning and educating is certainly my favorite part of
the industry. As a sales executive of property and casualty insurance I get to meet and know
many interesting business owners and people.
I see myself being a manager or managing partner of an insurance agency in the next few years. I
am looking forward to working in the insurance industry for the rest of my career. The insurance
field allows individuals to take on several exciting job opportunities while making a decent
salary.
