Anti-Acne Treatment Cream with 2% Salicylic Acid O-0057

Clear pimples and purify your skin with this facial lotion enriched with salicylic acid. Carbopol®* Ultrez 30 polymer offers good viscosity in combination with xanthan
gum in the presence of 2% salicylic acid and 5% of an electrolyte-containing extract, at pH 4. Glucamate™* SSE-20 and Glucate™* SS emulsifiers impart good
emulsion stabilization. Schercemol™* NGDO ester provides emolliency with high spreadability and light sensory while Glucam™* E-20 humectant imparts
humectancy to avoid dryness often associated with salicylic acid. Japanese green tea extract reduces skin irritation imparted by the acidic active.

Anti-Acne Treatment Cream with 2% Salicylic Acid O-0057

Procedure:
1. Combine PART E ingredients and mix until Salicylic Acid Crystals are fully dissolved. Set aside for
later addition.
2. PART A: Dissolve Disodium EDTA in water. When Disodium EDTA is fully dissolved, set mixing
speed @ 400-500 rpm and slowly disperse Carbopol®* Ultrez 30 polymer in water. Continue
mixing until polymer is fully hydrated.
3. Add PART B ingredients to PART A. Mix until uniform. Begin heating to 60-65°C.
4. Combine PART C ingredients and heat to 60-65°C. Mix until uniform and add to PART A/B.
Continue mixing until uniform.
5. When batch is uniform, remove from heat and add PART D. Increase mixing as needed to maintain
a good vortex.
6. Continue mixing through cool down. When batch is near or at room temperature, add PART E to
batch. Adjust mixing speed as needed to reduce splashing along sides of vessel.
7. Add PART F ingredients individually with good mixing between additions.
8. Q.S. any water loss during heating.
