FUN FACTS

A fish is an animal which lives and breathes in water. All fish are vertebrates (have a

backbone) and most breathe through gills and have fins and scales. Fish make up about

half of all known vertebrate species. Fish eat other fish, fish eggs, mollusks, aquatic

plants, algae, zoo plankton, terrestrial insects, water birds, turtles and frogs.

Turtles that live in the ocean are called sea turtles. They are cold-blooded, have scaly skin,
breath air, and lay eggs. Sea turtles have a hard shell that acts as armor and protects them from
predators. Sea turtles have flippers that enable them to swim well.

Crab have flattened bodies, two feeler antennae, and two eyes located on the end of stalks, and they
are 10-legged animals that walk sideways. Crabs have five pairs of legs. The first pair are known as
the claws. Crabs breathe underwater using gills.
