Impact of big five personality traits on employee


job performance and behavior

Abstract
Personality is one of the main factors that determines the performance and behavior of
employees. Individual differences due to different type of personality traits results in different
kinds of employee performance and behavior. The purpose of this paper is to explore the impact
of big five personality traits; Neuroticism, conscientiousness, Agreeableness, Openness to
experience and extroversion on employee job performance and behavior in private sector
organization. This study uses questionnaires to gather data to identify the impact of personality
traits on job performance and employee behavior. The findings of this study will help the
researchers to better understand how personality traits influences the job behavior of employees
and it will help human resource managers in appointing personnel’s to their appropriate jobs and
to improve individual performance through these personality traits to achieve success.
